D-200 teachers published in dual language publication

Two articles written by D-200 dual language teachers were published in the current edition of a national dual language newsletter called Soleado.  Dual language kindergarten teacher Marcos Gomez wrote an article in Spanish about the benefits of bridging and how it works. Kim Hansen, who also teaches dual language kindergarten, wrote an article in English elaborating on the idea.

Olson Elementary students share dual language news

The fourth and fifth grade dual language classes at Olson Elementary have been publishing a newsletter called Pony Express.  The newsletter was first published in the 2010-2011 school year, and it is published three to four times a year.

District launches new online newsletter

Beginning this month, District 200 parents, staff and community representatives will receive a new monthly electronic publication from the school district called e-Focus.

Dual Language Teachers Receive Training

Twenty-three Dual Language teachers received training in Guided Language Acquisition Design (GLAD) at a workshop on Dec. 6 - 9 at Creekside Middle School.  GLAD is a model of professional development in the area of language acquisition and literacy.
